More than 977,000 South Australians now have work, with employment numbers at record highs.

Data released today by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) for June, shows the number of South Australians employed is at a record high 977,000 people, an increase of 1000 on the previous month.

The result means there’s over 76,000 more South Australians employed now than at the time of the 2022 State Election.

Over the year, South Australian employment has grown 3.9%, nearly double the national growth rate of 2.0%.

Full time employment under this Government is also at unprecedented levels, with over 638,000 people employed full time, over 44,000 more than the 2022 State Election.

More South Australians are working and looking for work. Participation rose by 17,800 people over the last two months, to a participation rate of 64.3 per cent. This is the equal third highest participation rate South Australia has ever had.

As a result of the strong rise in participation, South Australia’s unemployment rate for June was 4.4 per cent. This remains 0.6 percentage points lower than at the 2022 election and remains at historically very low levels.
